              FAQ

  (Family Session)

01. How long does the session last?

Each session is different. A mini session is typically 30 minutes while a full session can go up to 60 minutes.

I will always allow time for a variety of groupings (full family, siblings, parents with children, individual kids) without feeling rushed so please don't think those are set times! If we need a little extra time, no problem!

02. Where do sessions take place?

Sessions can take place outdoors, in your home, or in my studio!  I’m happy to suggest locations based on lighting, season, and your family’s style. If you have a location in mind, please let me know and ill do my best to make it happen!

03.What should we wear?

Neutral tones, soft colors, and simple patterns photograph best. Try to coordinate outfits rather than match exactly. Avoid large logos or busy prints.

04.What if my kids don’t cooperate?

That’s completely okay—and very common. I use a relaxed, child-led approach and allow time for breaks. Some of the best photos come from candid moments, not posed smiles.

05.Can extended family join the session?

Yes! Extended family sessions are welcome. Please let me know in advance so I can plan timing and groupings accordingly. Additional fees may apply for larger groups.

06.Can we reschedule if someone gets sick or the weather is bad?

Absolutely. Family health and safety come first. Outdoor sessions can be rescheduled due to weather, and illness-related reschedules are always accommodated. This is included on photographer and clients end. Please note a refund will NOT be given. If we can't agree on a reschedule date at the time, it will go towards a credit on your account and can be used in the future. You will have 3 months to use this credit. If credit is not used, you will forfeit your payment

                         FAQ

               (NEWBORN)

01. When is the best time to schedule a newborn photo session?

The ideal time is when your baby is 7–14 days old. During this window, newborns are sleepier and more comfortable being gently posed. That said, beautiful photos can still be taken with older newborns too—especially lifestyle-style sessions.

02. How long does a newborn photography session last?

Newborn sessions typically last 1 to 2-1/2 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and gentle posing without rushing your baby.

03. Where does the session take place?

Sessions can take place:

In-studio – controlled lighting, props, and backdrops

In your home (lifestyle sessions) – natural, relaxed, and personal

Outdoor (weather permitting) – usually for lifestyle newborn + family images

04. How should I prepare for the session?

Feed your baby right before the session (or upon arrival)

Bring extra diapers, wipes, and a pacifier (even if rarely used)

Try to keep baby awake for 30–60 minutes beforehand if possible

Relax—your calm energy helps your baby stay calm too

05. When will we receive our photos?

Galleries are typically delivered within 4 weeks, depending on editing style and workload. Rush options may be available.

06. Do you provide props and wraps?

Yes. I provide a curated collection of wraps, blankets, headbands, hats, and props in neutral, timeless styles.

                        FAQ

               (Cake Smash)

01. What age is best for a cake smash?

Cake smash sessions are typically done when a child is 11–13 months old. Many parents schedule the session a few weeks before the birthday so photos are ready in time for invitations or party décor.

02. How long does a cake smash session last?

Sessions usually last 30–60 minutes. This includes time for warm-up, the cake smash itself, and (if included) a short clean-up or splash session afterward.

03. Do you provide the cake?

I do include a full size smash cake on my full sessions and also a small cake on my mini package!

I do not include any cake on my micro mini package (this will be your responsibility!)

If you choose a package that includes a smash cake, I will ask you for preference of cake flavor and get any allergies you or your child may have to make sure they are not included!

All cakes are themed to match the backdrop of choice

04. Can parents or siblings be included?

Typically, cake smash sessions focus on the birthday child. However, family or sibling photos can often be added at the beginning of the session—just ask in advance.

05.What if my child doesn’t want to touch the cake?

Totally normal! Some children need encouragement, while others dive right in. Parents are welcome to:

Demonstrate smashing

Help with a small taste

Break the cake slightly to spark interest

Even curious or hesitant reactions make for wonderful photos.

06.What should parents bring?

Baby wipes and a towel

A change of clothes for your child (and yourself, just in case!)

A favorite snack or drink (after the cake portion)

Any special outfit or topper you’d like included
